Baby Massage classes
Congratulations on the birth of your bundle of loveliness!
Are you looking for a class to do with your baby? One where you can meet other parents and babies? A class that can help you bond with your baby, where you can relax together whilst encouraging your baby's development?
Baby massage is a perfect first class to do with your baby!
My baby massage teaches you lots of massage techniques that will relax, calm and soothe your baby. You'll learn some wonderful techniques to help soothe colic and tummy troubles. You'll also learn some really effective ways to encourage tummy time, in a gentle and fun way, and also learn how your baby can make friends with gravity!
Encourages flexibility in the hips, spine, shoulders, knees and ankles
Promotes good posture sitting and standing
Encourages happy, gentle tummy time
Develops a strong structural foundation while baby's self-confidence grows
Helps to encourage baby to walk with a good posture, with the baby’s heels down and baby's feet spread on the floor to enable baby to stand and walk with more confidence and security
Opens front of chest and shoulders, which helps baby to breathe more deeply
Relaxes baby’s tummy to ease colic, constipation, and other tummy troubles
Relaxes baby to help ease anxiety or stress
Encourages and promotes your baby’s circulation to feet and hands
Promotes confident holding and reassurance
Helps mum with post-natal depression
Helps parent and baby bond
Classes are suitable from 4 weeks old until your baby is crawling. The techniques are simple so that you can continue massaging your baby at home, and continue into toddlerhood.
The group courses are held in the lovely midwife clinic, Verloskundige Pratijk Helende Meesters in Amstelveen (opposite Amstelland hospital), or you can arrange a private one in the comfort of your own home. The group classes are kept small so that you meet other parents in an intimate and friendly environment. We follow the babies' lead. Anytime your baby needs to be fed, bum changed, or just needs a cuddle, I encourage you to do so, and help you to feel at ease and comfortable.
We start each session with some holding and reassurance techniques, with your baby fully clothed, until your baby feels happy and content. Once your baby is ready, we then begin the massage with their clothes off (using soft towels to cover the areas of the body not being touched), using some lovely organic oil (provided). Relaxing music is played while we gently soothe our babies with some light nursery rhymes, and lots of relaxation breathing to help parents relax. The last session is an exciting sensory class which the babies love!
Each session is 1.5 hours long, with some relaxing time at the end for tea/coffee, snacks (and some yummy homemade cake!) and lots of time to chat.
Other family members, dads, mums, grandparents, and siblings are welcome too!
Next group course dates 2022:
October/November (mornings 10:30 - 12:00)
class dates: 25 October & 1, 8, 15, 22 November
for the 5 classes (includes organic oil, parents handouts, tea, coffee and cake/biscuits)

“We loved the baby massage course, it was nice to learn the techniques and socialize with other mums & babies, enjoying delicious homemade cake & tea. Thank you Miranda!"

“This has been my favourite baby class! Miranda creates a friendly & open environment that enables you to relax & make friends. It's enjoyable even if you don't get to participate if your baby needs feeding for the whole time, you still get to spend time sharing & bonding with other mums. The massage is well explained and repeated each week so you don't have to remember. I really enjoyed it & am sad it's ending!"
